Railway Medium Voltage Gas-Insulated Metal-Enclosed Switchgear and Control Equipment, tailored for electric high-speed railway traction systems, is a gas-insulated switchgear product from the ABB series, adhering to ABB's advanced design philosophy, and specifically developed for electrified railway locomotive traction power systems. The high-voltage compartments are independent, and the high-voltage components are sealed within a stainless steel housing filled with SF6 gas.


This helps improve the reliability and flexibility of railway power supply, enhances personnel and equipment safety, provides more convenient service, and offers effective cost control. Both single-pole and double-pole solutions are available.

Single-Phase Air-Insulated Medium-Voltage Switchgear for Railway Power Supply

Medium-voltage air-insulated switchgear for railway power supply consists of side-by-side arranged single-phase air-insulated cabinets. The circuit breaker control panel houses drawer-type single-phase vacuum circuit breakers for railway power supply.


Medium-voltage air-insulated railway switchgear conforms to IEC 60298 and 60694 standards and specifications for factory assembly, metal enclosure, and type testing of high-voltage switchgear. It meets ETL, UL, CE, CSA, and IEC certification standards.

Each cabinet is divided into several compartments for electrical equipment (busbars, circuit breakers, cable compartments) and auxiliary equipment (low-voltage compartments, connecting conduits), separated by metal partitions. This design ensures personal and equipment safety in the event of an internal arc fault.
