◉ Product Details
The UL508A platform offers scalability and high performance, providing advanced solutions for customers' target applications in industries such as water and wastewater treatment, tunneling, chemical processing, energy, machinery, materials handling, food and beverage, and marine.
UL508A standard control panels utilize proven technologies from industrial, infrastructure, and machinery manufacturing sectors, providing excellent solutions for customers' target applications. Our automation equipment is easy to integrate, has a long service life, and helps customers, partners, and equipment manufacturers improve productivity, reliability, safety, and secure connectivity.
UL 508A—the UL Standard for Safety for Industrial Control Panels—covers requirements for industrial control panel enclosures, general-environment industrial control panels, general industrial machinery, and special-purpose industrial control panels (such as air conditioning and refrigeration, crane control, elevator control, flame control, marine applications, etc.).
This equipment can be installed in general environments according to NFPA 70; however, compliance with the UL 508A standard is a prerequisite for certification for use in the hazardous environments described below.
Industrial control cabinets used for input/output connections to hazardous environments. The safety standards for industrial control cabinets used for input/output connections to hazardous environments are listed in UL 698A – UL Standard for Safety for Industrial Control Panels Relating to Hazardous (Classified) Locations.
Industrial control cabinets installed in general environments with intrinsically safe circuit extensions into hazardous locations are classified according to the relevant hazard level under NFPA 70 as follows:
* Class I, Division 1
* Class I, Zone 0 and Zone 1 (AEx)
* Class II, Division 1
* Class III, Division 1
* Zone 20 and Zone 21 (AEx) Industrial control cabinets connected to hazardous environments require the use of UL-listed safety barriers to further ensure that the extended circuitry is intrinsically safe. Additionally, each control cabinet requires control drawings, primarily to ensure that the equipment can be correctly connected and installed at the intended site.
We provide global market access solutions for control system products to meet the UL marking requirements of the North American market and other global market certifications.
We can provide global market access solutions that meet the UL marking requirements for control system products and auxiliary electrical safety products in the North American market, as well as other certification requirements for the global market.
